Can toothpastes relieve pain from skin burning?

Dr Lee Ka Hing
There are many types of chemical substances in toothpastes, which can stimulate pain or even inflame wounds. Hence, applying toothpaste at wounds not only cannot relieve pain, but also increase the chances of worsening the pain and injury. You may soak or wash the wound in cold water for at least 10 minutes to reduce wound temperature and relieve pain.
