Adult - Abdominal Pain


The cause of abdominal problems can be hard to pinpoint. Sometimes minor and serious abdominal problems start with the same symptoms.

Causes of abdominal pain:

There are various causes of abdominal pain. It can be ranged from Indigestion, constipation, and stomach flu to gastric ulcer, appendicitis, and other acute abdominal condition. Genital organ disorder such as testicular problem can also cause abdominal pain.

First aid to patient:

  • Rest until feeling better
  • Do not use aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen and naproxen. These medicines may irritate your stomach and increase your pain.
  • Nothing by mouth if severe abdominal pain
  • Warm pads over abdomen, be careful of scald injury when using it
  • Seek medical care if persistent or severe abdominal pain
